Today, after sitting around doing nothing at the beginning of class, two boys finally needed my help, and what else, but finding the definition of barometric pressure. EW! Another subject I hate...science. I had no idea what the heck it was, I knew I had learned it before but the lesson had obviously not stuck, thank goodness we had trusty dusty macbooks to help us! With the help of a few informational sites and weather.com...we got the definition down.
However, I did notice something seemed to be troubling one of my students. He was not really responsive, and barely wrote down anything. I'm hoping he just needs a break from school and it's not something more serious.

I think it's good that you really seem to care about the kids your tutoring. It is also good that you can help them, and even if you don't remember how to do something yourself you can look it up.
ReplyDeleteIt's really cool that you're helping these kids learn, and especially cool that you're teaching them how to look things up.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is really nice that you take time out to help children. You are really their roll models. Everything that you teach them will definitely help their future. Looking things up will make them realize that they have to work for what they want. It is one big step of making them responsible. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure everyone just goes through those days. There are plenty of times that I'd rather not be in class.., but it's nice that you notice. It shows that you really care. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for weather.com, it's always amazing.
